"Excellent quality & service! Brock & his team at Haskins Tree Care were amazing in helping us with our giant Deodar cedar. Twice we had two tree-sized branches fall during storms and cause serious damage to our home. Brock came with his team and not only removed another giant problematic branch, but they limbed up and cabled others to prevent any further damage to ours and our neighbors homes. It gave us such peace of mind when the windstorms came. And they did come! They are safe, skilled and professional. Brock was able to come quickly to assess our tree, give us a quote and get us on their calendar before the storms came. And his quote was super competitive and such a huge value (not that you can put a price on safety). Thank you Haskins!"

A Short Drive Up the Valley

The Crew Snoqualmie Homeowners Trust

Snoqualmie sits at the top of the valley, where the river pours over the falls and winds down past historic downtown. It is a short drive up the valley from Carnation, where Haskins Tree Care is based, so when you call us you are not getting a franchise crew driving in from three counties over. You are getting a local team that works this valley every week and knows its trees, its river, and its weather.

Snoqualmie is really two places, and we work both. Historic downtown sits low by the river, where flooding shapes everything. Up on the plateau, Snoqualmie Ridge is a planned community where homes are tucked among retained stands of Douglas fir and forested greenbelts. The tall conifers that give the Ridge its character are also the ones that catch the wind once a stand is opened up. We tailor every job to the property in front of us.

Brock Haskins is on-site for nearly every job, which means owner-level care from the first walk-through to final cleanup.

Our Work in Snoqualmie

Tree Services for Snoqualmie and the Ridge

Whether it is a single hazardous fir on the Ridge or storm cleanup downtown, our crew handles it. Here is what we offer Snoqualmie property owners, and why each one matters here specifically.

Tree Trimming & Pruning

When a planned greenbelt or forest stand gets thinned, the trees left on the new edge suddenly catch far more wind. Regular crown thinning and deadwood removal lowers limb-failure risk before a storm finds the weak spots. We also handle structural pruning for fruit and ornamental trees, and we never top trees.

Stump Grinding

After a tree comes down, the stump does not have to stay. We grind stumps below grade to clear tripping hazards and free up your yard, from a single backyard stump to larger cleanups.

Hazard Tree Removal

Tall Douglas fir and aging red alder, which weakens after about 40 to 50 years, are the usual suspects here, along with black cottonwood down along the river. If you have a leaning, cracked, or storm-damaged tree, we assess and remove it before it causes damage.

Close Quarters Removal

On the Ridge and in historic downtown, big trees often stand right against homes, fences, and power lines, with no room to drop them. Our crew uses technical rigging and precision cutting to bring them down piece by piece without touching your property.

Learn More

Chipping

We chip and haul all brush, branches, and debris from every job. Our commercial chippers process material on-site, and we can leave the chips for your landscaping or haul them away.

24/7 Emergency Response

Snoqualmie's storm season runs October through March, when the river can rise fast and trees come down on homes, driveways, and power lines. They do not wait for business hours. Our emergency crew is available around the clock, every day of the year.

Worth Knowing

What Shapes Tree Care in Snoqualmie

Snoqualmie's trees face a few specific pressures, and they are worth knowing about as a property owner here.

Recurring River Flooding

The city itself calls flooding a natural and recurring part of life here. The Snoqualmie River overtops its banks from heavy rain and Cascade snowmelt, and because the city sits downstream from a large mountain watershed, levels can rise fast with little notice. Repeated saturation stresses tree roots on low-lying riverfront lots, even on otherwise sturdy conifers.

Wind on the Plateau

Snoqualmie Ridge homes sit among retained forest stands. When a stand is thinned by development or a storm, the newly exposed edge trees take wind loads they never had to handle before, which raises the risk of windthrow. Proactive thinning and assessment make a real difference.

Cedar Dieback and Maple Decline

Western red cedar dieback and bigleaf maple decline are active forest-health concerns across western Washington, documented by WSU and Washington DNR. Watch for thinning canopies, top dieback, flagging branches, and reduced leaf size, and get an assessment if you see them.

A working knowledge of the Pacific Northwest is part of doing this job right here. Our crew assesses lean, soil conditions, and proximity to structures before any cut. If you have a tree you are unsure about, an honest assessment from an experienced arborist is the cheapest insurance you can buy.

City Tree Code

Tree Removal Rules in the City of Snoqualmie

Good news for most Snoqualmie homeowners: the city's tree code, Snoqualmie Municipal Code Chapter 12.17, applies to city trees, street trees, and trees in public rights-of-way and parks, not to the trees on your own lot. For a typical tree on a developed private property, the city does not require a tree-removal permit. A few things are still worth knowing:

If a tree on your property overhangs a public street or sidewalk, the city asks that you keep it pruned for clearance and remove any dead or dangerous limbs hanging over the right-of-way.

City-owned and council-designated heritage trees are protected, and damaging them carries penalties, so if there is a large tree near your property line, it is worth knowing whether it sits on public land.

Trees in a critical area or its buffer, such as a wetland, stream, steep slope, or the river corridor, are regulated separately under the city's environment code and may require review before removal.

On Snoqualmie Ridge and other planned neighborhoods, many lots border protected tree tracts, greenbelts, or open space set aside when the community was built. Those trees are protected by the recorded plat, and HOA rules can apply on top of that, so check before removing anything near a tract edge.

City Permit Contact When in doubt, a quick call to the City of Snoqualmie Community Development Department will confirm whether your specific tree and property are affected. We are glad to walk you through what we know.

Questions & Answers

What Snoqualmie Homeowners Ask

The most common questions we get from Snoqualmie property owners.

Do you offer free estimates in Snoqualmie?
Yes. Brock will come to your property, assess the job in person, and give you an honest, no-pressure quote before any work begins.
Do I need a permit to remove a tree in Snoqualmie?
For a typical tree on your own developed lot, usually not. Snoqualmie's tree code mainly covers city and right-of-way trees, not private ones. The real exceptions are trees in a critical area, protected tracts or greenbelts (common on Snoqualmie Ridge), and any HOA rules. See our permit section above, and confirm with the city for your specific address.
How fast can you respond to an emergency?
We answer emergency calls 24/7 and prioritize hazardous situations like fallen trees and storm damage.
What affects the cost of tree work in Snoqualmie?
Access, proximity to homes and power lines, tree size, and whether a crane is needed all factor in. We give you an exact price before any work starts.
What tree species do you work on?
Everything common to the valley, including Douglas fir, western red cedar, western hemlock, bigleaf maple, red alder, black cottonwood, and fruit and ornamental trees.
