"I really can't sing the praises of Haskins enough. Top to bottom they were amazing. They were on the scene to get out neighborhood out of the cyclone and then continued to be responsive to all our neighbors needs. They always communicated. Always showed up. Always did quality work. Always were professional. Worked great with insurance and non insurance work. Were super affordable. After all the horror stories of other contractors, Haskins was amazing. Allison on the front end was great, Brock the owner was always super cool, and the crews were awesome. Thank you."

The Local Team Fall City Counts On
Fall City sits where the Raging River meets the Snoqualmie, a mile below the falls, and it is a short run down the valley from Carnation, where Haskins Tree Care is based. When you call us, you are not getting a franchise crew driving in from three counties over. You are getting a local team that works this stretch of the valley every week and knows its rivers, its trees, and its weather.
Fall City keeps its rural character, with historic neighborhoods near the old landing, riverfront lots along the Snoqualmie and the Raging, and wooded acreage up toward Tokul and the plateau. The tall firs and cedars that shade these properties are also the ones that catch the wind and come down in a storm. We tailor every job to the property in front of us.
Brock Haskins is on-site for nearly every job, which means owner-level care from the first walk-through to final cleanup.

Tree Services for Fall City Properties
Whether it is a single hazardous fir or a full property cleanup, our crew handles it. Here is what we offer Fall City property owners, and why each one matters here specifically.
Tree Trimming & Pruning
The east wind that funnels down off Snoqualmie Pass puts real load on tall, top-heavy trees here. Regular crown thinning and deadwood removal lowers limb-failure risk before a windstorm finds the weak spots. We also handle structural pruning for fruit and ornamental trees, and we never top trees.
Stump Grinding
After a tree comes down, the stump does not have to stay. We grind stumps below grade to clear tripping hazards and free up your yard, from a single backyard stump to cleanup after clearing wooded acreage.
Hazard Tree Removal
Black cottonwood lines the Snoqualmie and Raging rivers, and it is known to break, growing fast and turning brittle as it matures. Aging red alder stands, which weaken after about 40 to 50 years, are also reaching the end of their natural life across the valley. If you have a leaning, cracked, or storm-damaged tree, we assess and remove it before it causes damage.
Close Quarters Removal
Historic lots near the old landing, and riverfront properties where big trees stand right against homes, fences, and power lines, often leave no room to drop a tree. Our crew uses technical rigging and precision cutting to bring it down piece by piece without touching your property.
Chipping
We chip and haul all brush, branches, and debris from every job. Our commercial chippers process material on-site, and we can leave the chips for your landscaping or haul them away.
24/7 Emergency Response
Fall City's storm season runs October through March, when the east wind picks up and the rivers regularly flood the valley floor. Trees come down on homes, driveways, and power lines, and they do not wait for business hours. Our emergency crew is available around the clock, every day of the year.

The Conditions Fall City Trees Face
The trees around Fall City face a few specific pressures, and they are worth knowing about as a property owner here.
Wind Off the Pass
Fall City is known for a strong east wind that carries higher-pressure air down from Snoqualmie Pass and through the valley. That steady load tests tall, top-heavy conifers and finds any weak union, dead limb, or leaning trunk. Thinning and deadwood removal ahead of storm season is the best defense.
Flood-Stressed Roots
The valley floor floods most years between October and March, sometimes more than once where the two rivers meet. Repeated saturation stresses root systems, and even drought-tolerant uplanders like Douglas fir suffer progressive root decline on lower riverfront properties.
Cedar Dieback and Maple Decline
Western red cedar dieback and bigleaf maple decline are both active forest-health concerns across western Washington, documented by WSU and Washington DNR. Watch for thinning canopies, top dieback, flagging branches, and reduced leaf size. If a cedar or maple on your property is showing these signs, it is worth an assessment.
A working knowledge of the Pacific Northwest is part of doing this job right here. Our crew assesses lean, soil conditions, and proximity to structures before any cut. If you have a tree you are unsure about, an honest assessment from an experienced arborist is the cheapest insurance you can buy.
Tree Removal Rules in Fall City and King County
Fall City is an unincorporated community, so there is no city tree ordinance here. Tree removal is governed by King County code instead. A few things to know:
For most routine tree work on a typical residential lot, no permit is required.
A clearing and grading permit is required if you clear more than 7,000 square feet on rural-area (RA) zoned property, or remove 5,000 board feet or more of merchantable timber.
A permit is also required to remove trees or vegetation from a critical area, such as a wetland, steep slope, or shoreline, or from its buffer.
A tree that poses an imminent hazard, meaning it could fail at any moment with a target present, is exempt from permit requirements under King County Code Chapter 16.82.
If a tree is a hazard but not imminent, and more than 7,000 square feet of the lot has already been cleared, or the tree sits in a critical area, a clearing permit may be required first.
County Permit Contact For questions about your specific property, the King County Department of Local Services Permitting Division handles clearing and grading. We are glad to walk you through what we know, but you should always confirm the rules for your address before removal.
